Bioinformatics Content:
Phalanx Human Whole Genome OneArray™ employs IMPORT
(INTEGRATED MASSIVE PROBES’ OPTIMAL RECOGNITION TOOL) to select probes
for gene transcript detection by hybridization. The design and
selection of the probe set are based on the following stringent
parameters to deliver the highest specificity and hybridization
efficiency:
Lowest
possible hexamer frequency score
Single base ratio does not exceed 50%
G-C
content ratio is in the range of 40%- 60%
Minimize
single base repeats of 5 or more
Most
probes are located within 1,200bp of the predicted 3’ end of the
transcripts
No
>17 continuous matches with all non-target transcripts
The
difference of melting temperature between probe-to-target transcript
and probe-to-non-target transcripts is >10℃
Majority
of probes show perfect match when blast against genomic
sequence (i.e. within a single exon)
